Shopify Client

Ravke is an exciting new client who approached us for assistance with the migration of their e-commerce website from WordPress to Shopify. They sought our expertise not only in the technical aspects of the transition but also in creating a modern design that incorporates clean animations and a visually rich, image-heavy layout. The client expressed frustration with WordPress, citing its slowness and the limitations it imposed on the growth of their business. We wholeheartedly agreed with his decision to migrate to Shopify, a platform that has consistently proven to be the best choice for both new and established merchants looking to scale their operations effectively.

In addition to the migration, Ravke requested our assistance in developing a multilingual store to cater to various markets across Europe. While his primary focus is on the Netherlands, he also wanted to include an English translation on the website. This dual-language capability would help him reach a broader audience, extending beyond Europe to potential customers in the United States. Ravke also asked us to create redirects for their pages and products as part of the migration from WordPress to Shopify to preserve their SEO.

Our initial efforts concentrated on migrating all of his existing products and collections to Shopify, along with the current images. During this period, we encouraged the client to undertake new photoshoots, as we felt that the existing images did not align with the modern lifestyle brand aesthetic he aimed to achieve. While the new images were being captured and edited, we crafted an initial draft of the website layout for his review, making revisions based on his feedback to ensure we met his vision accurately.

Once we finalised all content, we proceeded to optimise the language switch feature, creating a rough English translation for him to review. Given that he is bilingual in both English and Dutch, this collaborative approach allowed him to fine-tune the translation to better resonate with his audience. By the time we completed this work, we had received the much-anticipated images from his photographer. We dedicated considerable time to reviewing these images, strategically allocating them to areas where they would have the most significant impact on the overall design.

Fortunately, we had an abundance of high-quality images to work with, which was crucial in crafting a premium aesthetic for the website. This allowed us to be intentional about the images we selected, ensuring they paired perfectly with the heading content we wanted to overlay. We made it a priority that each collection featured a unique banner image, contributing to the engaging and modern look that the client envisioned for our redesign. Ravke also had existing branding elements from his WordPress website that we carried over. However, since this branding was minimalistic, primarily utilising black, white, and red, we were careful and strategic in how we applied these colours. Our goal was to create clear calls to action that would guide customers seamlessly through the website, ensuring a highly optimised user experience.

We also chose to embrace boldness in our colour choices, introducing contrasting sections to break up the page visually. Additionally, we leaned heavily into the new images provided by the client to set the appropriate tone and mood for the website, effectively selling customers on the rebellious lifestyle the brand aspires to embody within the fashion industry. Overall, Ravke was extremely pleased with our work, and they have successfully launched their new Shopify website, which they are genuinely thrilled with. We believe that the design we created will stand the test of time and continue to resonate with customers for years to come.
