Beyond Nine approached us with a clear vision: they sought a comprehensive redesign of their ecommerce website. While they already possessed a collection of high-quality images and a fantastic range of products, they lacked the technical knowledge and experience necessary to determine which designs and layouts would be most effective for online engagement. Additionally, they needed assistance in crafting compelling and interactive product pages that would not only attract visitors but also convert them into loyal customers.
To enhance user experience, we took the initiative to standardise many of the product variants throughout the store. This meant ensuring that the sizing and colour options were consistently represented across all products. Such standardisation significantly streamlined the customer experience, making it easier for shoppers to filter products by size or colour on the collection pages.
The client expressed a desire to customize their existing Shopify theme instead of switching to a completely new one. They had specific customization requests that their current theme did not support. For example, they wanted to update the theme's font to a non-standard Shopify font. This required us to make several code modifications to integrate their brand font seamlessly into the site. Additionally, they requested enhancements to various sections of the site to incorporate their branded arch icon and other visual elements, as well as to adapt the appearance of the blog pages.
To further improve the site’s functionality, we updated the theme to showcase colour swatches for each product directly above the product title on the collection pages. We also addressed several alignment and padding issues that were present in the original theme. The project involved the addition of several Shopify apps designed to collect product reviews automatically, display similar product styles beneath the main product image on the product pages, and implement "Where did you hear about us?" surveys on the checkout page. We also integrated a wishlist feature and improved size charts that could be tailored to specific products or collections.
An important enhancement involved allowing products with multiple colour swatches to appear as separate items on the collection pages. This change significantly improved the shopping experience for customers by making it easier to find and view different colour options.
Throughout the redesign, we leveraged many of Shopify's metafield features on both product and collection pages. This enabled us to display additional information under specific dropdown areas, such as fabric composition, care instructions, manufacturing location, model information, and detailed colour swatch settings.
Overall, this redesign was a significant and ambitious undertaking. However, thanks to the excellent communication and meticulous attention to detail exhibited by the Beyond Nine team, we were able to demonstrate our Shopify expertise and successfully deliver the website they envisioned.
